The half marathon will take place on the full marathon route, highlighting the views of Shagawa Lake, Miner's Lake, Winton and ending in historic Ely.

Reserve your spot for the "4000ish rod portage".

REGISTRATION

Registration opens October 19, 2024. Registration will close September 13, but registration is available again on Friday, September 19 at packet pickup.

 

There are no refunds on registration but your bib can be transferred to another runner or you may transfer to another race during the same race year.  Transfers cannot be made to another race year.  Transfers will incur a $20 fee if made after September 10, 2025.

Anyone found cheating will be disqualified.

​

Walkers are welcome!  You must finish within a 27 minutes/mile.

​

PACKET PICKUP

Packet Pickup is Friday, September 19th 12:00-10:00 PM at Whiteside Park in Ely

(721 E. Sheridan St.)

​

Packets not picked up on Friday will be available at the Bus Pickup area on Saturday morning. Do not get on the bus without a bib!

​

RACE START

The Highland Bank Half Marathon will begin at 8:00AM.

​

The race will begin at Echo Shores Resort, on the Echo Trail.  Buses will transport racers from the Ely Memorial High School (next to the finish line at Whiteside Park)  There is no parking at Echo Shores Resort, so it is asked that all racers please take the bus.

​

Buses will begin transportation at 5:30 AM.  The last bus for the half marathon will run at 7:30.

​

PACE GROUPS

Pacers will be provided by Beast Pacing.  Pace groups will be available for the following goal times: 1:40, 1:50, 2:00, 2:15, 2:30, 2:45 and 3:00

​

AID STATIONS

Aid stations are located at miles 2,4,6,8,9,10,11, and 12.  Each station will have water, GU drink and many stations also have additional nutritional aids.

​

DOGS

Dogs are now allowed in the race.  They must be on a leash at all times.  Any "dog messes" must be cleaned up if they are on the road way. Please be mindful of other racers.

 

STROLLERS

Strollers are now allowed in the race.  Please begin at the start line, in the back of the pack as to not impede other racers.

 

BLANKETS FOR CHARITY

If you have any blankets that you would like to donate to charity, please bring them to the start line.  You can use these to keep warm until the start, and as the race begins, there will be large bins to collect them.

AWARDS

All finishers will receive a finishers shirt and medal.

​

Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 male and female finishers, as well as the following age categories:

Male and Female: <19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-70, 80<
